CURRENT Ballymena RFC’s P6 Minis team host a Rugby Festival this Saturday, April 27, at Eaton Park (9am).

Running the fund raising event are Team Coaches, parents and family members.

Money raised goes towards the P6 squad’s tournament venture which takes place in 2025.

“The tournament will provide an amazing opportunity for all of the P6 Minis Rugby Team to showcase their talents against teams from across the UK or further afield,” said Festival co-ordinator Rachel Hobson.

“It will also give them the chance to learn new skills, enhance their health and well-being and build on social interactions, whilst also hopefully winning a trophy or two.”

A staggering 75 teams of various age groups will converge at Eaton Park, home of Ballymena RFC.

“We are expecting in the region of 900 young players from 14 different areas of the Province,” said Rachel.

Head coach Nigel Redmond, along with coaches Paul Casson, Paul Steenson and George Fleck, will be making the trip to the tournament next year, along with 25 players, each accompanied by a parent.

The Mini Section Festival this Saturday will be a great day out for the whole family.

Hot food, drinks and snacks will be available to purchase.

The Afternoon Session, for P5,6,7 and Under-12s, starts at 1pm.
