THE February 1 Mid Antrim Motor Club Off Road Section’s annual Charity Trial has raised £2,000 for Marie Curie Cancer.
A big thank you goes to the Stevenson family for the use of the Quarry for the event, to all competitors, observers and course markers who help before and after the event.
“Without all your help our events would not be possible,” said a club spokeswoman.
The event took place at Ballynulto Quarry just outside Broughshane and attracted 85 competitors.
They completed 4 laps of 10 Sections.
The overall winner in the expert grade was Stuart McClurg losing just 12 marks on his vintage bike.
Second was Robert McCrory on 15 marks to 3rd place went to Portstewart man Alex Lennox on 26 marks lost.
In the semi expert grade John McAndrew took victory to 2nd place Jamie Chambers on 14 marks to 22 marks.
In the Clubman grade it was a three-way tie for first place where Alan Young, Stephen Pyper and Michael McCosh all went clean all day so there was no separating the three.
In the ever-popular Sportsman grade there was two rider’s rider clear all day as well both Robert Jennings and Ross McCullough managed to not put a foot down the whole course.
Local man John Rainey took 2nd place on 2 marks lost.
In Youth A Shannon Smyth took victory from Kyle Hewitt on 41 marks to 61.
In Youth B Sophie Ferguson dropped 7 marks to 2nd placed Ollie Gilmour on 23 marks.
In Youth C Kyle McClean won by just 1 mark to 2nd placed Daniel McAndrew with 7 marks to 8 marks.
Third placed Toby Jones dropped 22 marks.
