BALLYMENA United Reserves coach Andrew Law has been promoted to the role of First Team Coach in Jim Ervin's backroom team.

News of the appointment has been announced on the United website.

Andy joined the first team management staff in January, but has now been confirmed as a permanent fixture alongside Jim, Dermot McVeigh and Stuart Addis for the upcoming season.

Having had spells at various Irish League level clubs working with youth groups, as well as time as Head Coach at Limavady and Moyola, Andrew brings another level of experience to the first team staff.

Speaking on Andy making the step up, manager Jim Ervin has praised his work so far.

“Andy has done a fantastic job since January and is someone the first team players respect a lot, so we feel he's a really good fit."

He continued, "\He deserves this step up and has experience with the younger players who will be looking to get in and around first teams and we're very happy to keep him with us at the football club and look forward to seeing where we can go with him.”

Welcome aboard Andy
