TODAY (Tuesday) Cambridge House Medallion take on Belfast High School in the Danske Bank Medallion Trophy final at Belfast Royal Academy (2.30pm).
The sides have met before this season in a blitz tournament - with Cambridge House coming out on top.
But the Ballymena side will be taking nothing for granted as they focus on the final, which will carry a different level of pressure and intensity.
Both sides will be determined to rise to the occasion and deliver a high-quality contest.
This will be Belfast High’s third consecutive Medallion Trophy Final!
For Cambridge House preparation for the showpiece event has remained focused and consistent.
They have adhered to their established training routines, maintaining their strength and conditioning programme without disruption.
Under the guidance of Mr Matthew Harkness and Mr Neil Johnston, the squad feels well prepared for the challenge ahead.
Mr Harkness has sharpened the team’s attacking structure, while Mr Johnston has emphasised the importance of set-piece accuracy and mental resilience.
Cambridge House captain James Johnston said they have worked hard all season and are delighted to have reached the final.
“Our squad has put a lot of effort into training and fitness, and we are excited and keen to deliver a strong performance,” outlined the skipper.
“We are hoping for a competitive game against Belfast High School. It would be amazing to come away with the win for our squad, the coaches and Cambridge House Grammar School.”
Meanwile, Cambridge House Principal, Mr Richard Marsh spoke of his pride at the school reaching the final.
“We are extremely proud of the commitment, teamwork and determination the Medallion have shown throughout the season,” he said.
“Reaching the final is a tremendous achievement for the players and their coaches. On behalf of the entire school community, I would like to wish the boys the very best of luck and hope they can bring the trophy home to Ballymena.”
Cambridge House kicked off their Trophy campaign on a bitterly cold January morning, turning in a commanding display to defeat Dalriada 38-7.
Despite the challenging conditions, they maintained their intensity and composure throughout, with Jak Irwin delivering a standout performance by scoring a superb hat-trick to secure the victory.
Their momentum continued in the semi-final against Foyle at Cambridge House, where they delivered another assured performance.
Dominant on home soil, they ran out convincing 36–10 winners to seal their place in the final.
With preparations complete and belief running high, the Medallion now look ahead to the final with confidence and determination as they aim to cap off a superb season in style.
