RACHEL ‘The Diva’ McIlhagga made it four K1 wins out of four in the recent fight night Templepatrick!

Fighting out of the IMMA gym in George Street, Ballymena, she earned the win against tough MMA Cork fighter Louise Brady.

In a packed out Jim Baker Stadium McIlhagga dominated and controlled every round.

In the AKUMA Championship clash it was another top performance by the Ballymena fighter.

“Every time Rachel rocked or hurt her opponent, they just clinched up with Louise hugging onto her,” outlined head coach Rodney Moore.

“Louise was lucky to survive the last round. Rachel winded Brady with a ‘teep’ (front snap kick) to the solar plexus and then unleashed a barrage of punches and kicks. But unfortunately the horn sounded and saved Louise from a Ref’s stoppage.”

Rachel, a 23-year-old insurance consultant from Carniny Road in the town, is coming making good progress in the sport.

She continues to improve and is growing in confidence with every fight under the extra tutelage of Pat McDonagh.

With him this latest success is her fourth win in a row in K1.
