December activities at Scullery O'Tullagh Community Allotment

THE shorter days and winter weather do not mean that activities have stopped at Scullery O’Tullagh Community Allotment.

The first week of December saw three Christmas wreath making workshops held at their facilities in the Old Tullygarley Road.

Their first such workshop was held in November 2024 and due to popular demand was brought back for three sessions in 2025.

Attendees were provided with all the materials to make a wreath of fabulous greenery suitable for hanging on the front door or for decorating a grave. A big thank you to everyone who donated greenery from their gardens!

Participants came from various local groups such as u3a, Ballymena Garden Club, Ballymena Floral Art and the general public.

A constant supply of hot drinks, mince pies and shortbread kept spirits high and home-made soup and wheaten kept the cockles warm.

On Friday, December 5 a group of nurses from the Northern Trust came out for an afternoon as part of the Health and Wellbeing, Champion Team building Programme.

They thoroughly enjoyed their well-deserved afternoon off, engrossed in Christmas wreath making!

Many thanks to all the volunteers at Scullery O’Tullagh who worked hard on collecting the greenery, providing the refreshments and running the workshops.
