Drugs worth £145,000 are seized in town

Whilst on patrol of Ballymena over the weekend District Support Team Officers stopped a vehicle in the vicinity of the Galgorm Road and conducted a search under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

As a result of this search one male was arrested and a follow up search conducted at a property in Ballymena town centre.

A significant amount of suspected Class A drugs were located along with a large amount of cash.

Police estimate the total value of suspected Class A drugs and cash seized to be approximately £145,000.

The District Support Team will continue to proactively target criminals operating in our District and take every opportunity to remove drugs from the community and deny criminals access to illegally gained money.
