The team from Eurospar Cullybackey recently took part in the Belfast city marathon to raise funds for Air Ambulance Northern Ireland.
From park runs to running three times a week the team rose to the challenge and smashed it!
The Relay Team raised an incredible £1245 for the charity.
The team are grateful to the community who rallied around.
“We’d like to thank our customers, local businesses, councillors and local media; for their support and donations. The people’s generosity has already surpassed more than we hoped for.”
Air Ambulance NI, in partnership with the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS), provides the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) for NI. Serious or life-threatening situations can happen to anyone at any time and on average every day one individual finds themselves in need of AANI.
Others Live When You Give! Every day in Northern Ireland, two people need the services of the air ambulance medical team. It could be a road traffic collision, fall from a height, farm accident, sports incident, or sudden cardiac arrest to name a few. Whatever the critical situation, the air ambulance doctor and paramedic are airborne in minutes, travelling to the furthest part of Northern Ireland in less than 25minutes. At the scene, they provide medical care that is usually only available when the patient reaches the hospital and it can be the difference between life and death.
