BROUGHSHANE woman Lyndsay Turtle’s recent charity table quiz - held in memory her daughter Kira - raised £3,626 for Diabetes UK Northern Ireland.
Last week Lyndsay and her son Connor presented the money to Naomi Breen, from Diabetics UK.
Naomi thanked Lyndsay for the generous amount raised for the very worthy cause.
The quiz, which took place inb The Thatch Inn, in Broughshane, was very well supported.
It was held to honour the memory of Lyndsay’s daughter Kira Louise, who tragically passed away in June 2022 at the age of 18.
Kira lived with type 1 diabetes for 13 years, having been diagnosed at just 5 years old.
Her death was due to complications related to blood sugar levels, and her family is still awaiting answers about the exact cause.
Kira was a stunning and vibrant young woman who touched the lives of many during her short time. Lindsay thanks everyone who donated money and raffle prizes and all those who supported the actual quiz.
Special thanks also goes to The Thatch Inn for kindly allowing the evening there to be hosted there.
All proceeds from the evening are going directly to Diabetes UK Northern Ireland to aid their invaluable work as they support those affected by diabetes, and will also fund vital research. The successful event served as a heartfelt effort to ensure Kira’s legacy lives on while helping others who face similar challenges.
