Missing man died after tragic accident - family

THe family of Ballymena man Alastair McIlroy, who went missing last weekend, have announced his death after a tragic accident.

A death notice to this effecthas been published on the site of a local funeral director.

Mr. McIlroy (63) was last seen in the Leighinmohr Avenue area of the town on Saturday evening, 7th December.

The death notice stated:

McIlroy Alastair John 8th December 2024, after a tragic

accident, late of 1 Camphill Park, Ballymena. Much loved son of Margaret and the late Harry. Beloved father of Louise and Jay, father-in-law of Peter and Laura, devoted grandfather of Logan, Abbie, Noah, Sophie, Hope and dear brother of May, Carol, Leonard and the late Bobby. Funeral service in Henry’s Funeral Parlour, 100 Broughshane Street, Ballymena BT43 6EE on Tuesday 17th December at 1.30pm interment afterwards Ballee cemetery. House strictly private, no flowers please, donations in lieu if desired may be sent to James Henry Funeral Services, address above Community Rescue Service. Always loved and remembered by his family and family circle.
