THE Ahoghill Community Property Development Company (ACPDC) has very kindly covered the cost of a large number of hanging baskets and mangers for the village of Ahoghill.

ACPDC owns and manages the business units on the Cullybackey Road and the organisation has been very supportive of the Ahoghill in Bloom environmental improvement programme.

Last year the group made a donation to cover the cost of a replacement floral cart which is positioned at the entrance to the Cullybackey Link Road adjacent to the Ahoghill Community Garden.

Each year the Ahoghill in Bloom team arrange for baskets and mangers to go on display across the village. Council is very supportive of the programme of activity but there are substantial additional costs associated with maintaining the high standards of floral displays.

This year the ACPDC has offered to pay for the additional baskets and mangers purchased from Ben Vista Nursery.

A cheque for £2,700 was recently handed over by members of the Property Development Company to Ben Vista.

Also present were volunteers from the Ahoghill in Bloom team.

Once again this year the village has been entered for the Ulster in Bloom as well as Best Kept competitions.

The volunteers have been working very hard throughout the last few months to ensure that the village looks its very best.

A spokesperson for the team commented: “The volunteers very much appreciate all of the support received from local residents and organisations.

“A recent street collection raised over £2,200 and the very generous gesture by the Ahoghill Community Property Development Company to cover the cost of floral baskets and mangers has allowed us to maintain the programme of environmental improvement in the village.

“Such support, including donations from local businesses, churches, etc demonstrates how local groups can work together for the benefit of the whole community. Our sincere thanks to everyone.”
