Diabetes UK Northern Ireland is recruiting volunteers to support it’s Ballymena-based Live Well Hub as Live Well Champions!
If you are passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of your local community and are motivated to make a real difference, the team at Diabetes UK Northern Ireland would love to hear from you.
The Live Well Champion will play a key role in supporting the Ballymena Live Well Hub which is a one-stop-shop for diabetes-related information, advice, and support.
In this role you will build knowledge and understanding of the condition and encourage those affected by diabetes to make the appropriate lifestyle changes to support their health and wellbeing.
Across Northern Ireland, there are nearly 112,000 people living with diabetes, 29,212 of which fall under the Northern Trust – the highest figure across all Trust areas.
Data released earlier this year also indicates that a further 66,000 people in Northern Ireland are considered to have pre-diabetes and are at risk of developing the condition during their lifetime.
The Ballymena Live Well Hub provides members of the local community with the opportunity to connect with their peers and learn more information about supporting their diabetes directly from healthcare professionals and members of the Diabetes UK Northern Ireland team.
If you would like to join the Live Well Hub as a member, make sure to join the team at an upcoming meeting:
