STEP into Christmas at Ahoghill this year as the picturesque village takes care of your gift, beauty, home and shopping needs.
Enjoy a ‘Diamond’ festive season as the centre of the village is adorned with lights and decorations.
The annual Christmas Lights ‘switch on’ takes place on Friday, December 6 at 7pm in the Diamond.
With the completion of the reconfiguration of the Diamond as part of the Village Renewal Programme, it is planned to incorporate the four new trees as part of this year's illuminations.
So, rather than a traditional Christmas tree, the four new large trees surrounding the village clock will form the central feature this year.
This should make for a spectacular centre piece to the village Christmas celebrations.
Everyone in the community is invited to come along and take part in this year's 'switch on'.
Pupils from Fourtowns, St Paul’s and Longstone Primary schools will be providing some festive entertainment.
The MC for the evening will be Rev Dennis Christie (Rector of Ahoghill and Portglenone).
Members of Ahoghill Gospel Hall will be providing refreshments during the course of the evening. The actual light ‘switch on’ is scheduled for around 7.30.
Ahoghill Young Farmers Club will ensure that Santa arrives ‘in style’ before he takes up residence in Coaching for Christ where he will distribute gifts supplied by Ahoghill Traders’ Association.
The Ahoghill Traders’ Association takes on responsibility for organising the festive lighting and the evening’s activities.
The Association would like to thank everyone who contributes to the success of the evening. Thanks also to Council for their financial support. It is also hoped that shoppers will support local businesses in the Ahoghill area by stocking up for Christmas over the festive period.
