Josh in top form to clinch Shane Cup Trial victory

Mid Antrim Motor club Off Road Section hosted their annual Shane Cup Trial event which was also a round of the Irish Trials Championship.

The event attracted 70 riders in total on a dry sunny morning at Shilnavogie who completed 3 laps of 15 sections.

The overall winner and recipient of the Shane cup which was kindly donated by the Crawford family went to Josh Hanlon.

Josh finished on 38 marks to 2nd place Stuart McClurg on 49 marks and 3rd place Bill O’Toole on 100 marks.

In the expert grade Stuart Hanlon took 1st place on 59 marks by 1 mark to 2nd place Matthew Millar on 60 and 3rd place Robert McCrory on 63 marks.

The Semi expert class was won by Chris Heenan on 35 marks, 2nd place John Millar on 37 and local man Sam McCallion in 3rd place with 45 marks lost.

In the Clubman grade local road racer Neil Kernohan took the win with 11 marks lost to 2nd place Stephen Pyper on 14 and 3rd place Ross Pyper on 19 marks.

In the Sportsman grade Lawrence Blackwood finished 1st on 2 marks lost to 2nd place Mark Scott on 5 marks and 3rd place David Telford on 8 marks.

In Youth A Jay Pyper won on 69 marks. The winner of Youth B was Stuart Lappin on 60 marks to 2nd place Lewis Kennedy on 126 marks.

The Youth C Big wheel was won by Mason Crawford on 86 marks to 2nd place Shannon Smyth on 97.
