Stephen wins Northern Ireland PGL Singles

STEPHEN Coleman of Ballymena 'A' bagged the Northen Ireland PGL singles title on Saturday in Belfast, defeating Alan McClean of Larne in the final at Ewarts Bowling Club.

Coleman was always in control leading 8-3 after 5 ends.and 12-7 after 10.

He continued to keep the upperhand and led 16-10 after the third quarter before eventually adding another 5 counting bowls to win 21-14 in the end.

'B' TEAM LOSE OUT

Ballymena 'B' lost its continued Irish Cup quarter-final match with Ballywalter after capitulating in the last 5 ends, losing 22 points across the rinks.
