BALLYMENA Ladies Rugby Section are hosting a Give It A Try evening at the Club on Wednesday, February 5.
This event is aimed at all Primary and Secondary school aged girls who have never played the game before and would like to try it out in a fun, safe environment.
Hosted by qualified Club coaches and Ulster Rugby Staff, the girls will learn the basic skills through playing fun games and small sided matches.
This is an excellent opportunity for the girls to keep fit, have fun, learn a new skill and make friends.
“This event is yet another fantastic initiative for the Club as we aim to continue growing the number of females playing rugby in Ballymena. The Club already has over 60 girls playing rugby at mini and youth levels,” said Ballymena’s Community Rugby Officer, Mark Hermin.
The session will start at 7.00pm outside on the main pitch and will run until 8.15pm when the girls can head back indoors for a well-earning slice of pizza.
“ No previous rugby experience is necessary. We ask that the girls wear suitable clothing and footwear for outdoors and a gumshield,” said Mark.
The Clubhouse will be open from 6.30pm for any parents or family members who wish to stay and watch the action.
There is no better time for your young person to get involved in this great sport.
