RHYS McKee will be a man on a mission this Saturday night in Cardiff!
The Ballymena Institute of Mixed Martial Arts fighter is keen to break back into the Lightweight Elite Division.
And one man stands in his way to him making a strong statement - teak tough American Jefferson George!
McKee and George come toe-to-toe this weekend in the massive Cage Warriors 100 end-of-year show in the ICE Area in Cardiff.
“Rhys will be up against a fight veteran with a record of 8-6-0,” outlined head coach at the George Street gym, Rodney Moore.
“George’s only losses have been close split decisions against top ranked fighters from Bellator, KSW, BAMMA.”
But Moore has every confident his fighter will make a name for himself on Saturday night.
“This is a great fight for Rhys to make a statement by finishing this guy and throwing himself right in the mix with the elite of cage warriors lightweight division,” coach Moore told Guardian Sport
“I’ve no doubt Rhys will smoke him, I can see Rhys dropping him first, then finishing him with one of his special ‘Skelotene’ chokes!”
Meanwhile, the recent Charity Grappling event in the George Street gym was a great success.
“We had gyms from all over the county taking part. In total we raised in the region of £700. And there are still some sponsor sheets to come back in yet,” outlined coach Moore.
