ON October the Mid Antrim Motor Club Off Road Section ran their annual Slemish Trial which was kindly sponsored by JP Corry.

The event was also a round of the Ulster trials championship.

A total of 85 riders competed the 3 laps of 13 sections on a cold but dry autumn day round the Slemish Mountain.

The overall winner in the Expert Elite class and receiving the Slemish Cup Trophy was Stuart McClurg.

Stuart completed the course on 37 marks lost to 2nd place Josh Hanlon on 57.

In the expert grade Alex Lennox took the win by 1 mark on 59 to 2nd place Robert McCrory on 60 marks lost.

In the Semi expert class club member Matt Millar took the win from Neal Perry on 24 marks to 37 marks lost.

In the clubman grade it was Stephen Pyper winning on just 5 marks lost to 2nd place Jamie Chambers on 12.

In the popular sportsman grade Andy Higgins completed the course on 1 mark lost to Colin Lyttle on 6 and Keith Lennox on 7 marks.

In Youth A and winning the John McCosh Memorial Trophy was Jay Pyper.

Youth B was won by Stuart Lappin on 82 and Youth C Ross Allen won on 15 marks lost.

Our thanks goes to all the observers who braved the cold weather to help out on the day, to all members who helped before and after the event.

Also to the land owners for their use of the land, JP Corry for their kind sponsorship and lastly Mid And East Antrim Council for the use of the carpark and Toilet facilities.
