MEMBERS of the late James Larkin recently raised more than £6,000 for Macmillan Cancer in memory of their father.
Michelle, Paul and Geraldine said: “As a family we wanted to show our sincere gratitude for the care and support daddy received whilst in the Macmillan Unit at Antrim Area Hospital and for the ongoing advice and support provided by Macmillan while he was being cared for at home.
“So what better way to raise funds for Macmillan in daddy's memory than an evening with top musicians and performers with all of his family and friends in The Wild Duck Inn, Portglenone on Saturday, February 9 2019.
“The evening was such a great success and we raised a fantastic amount of money – we would like to thank everyone who bought raffle tickets and all who attended on the night.
“We also wish to say a massive thank you to the Wild Duck Inn for providing the perfect venue; to Peach, Fiddler Adam and Charlie Elvis for providing amazing entertainment and to all the local businesses who provided raffle prizes.
“We have been overwhelmed by all the love and support from everyone. It was a blast and Daddy would have loved it so thank you all so much".
Maria Small from Macmillan said: “It was a pleasure supporting the Larkin family with their fundraising event. Macmillan would like to thank them all for their time, generosity and for the huge amount of money they raised in their daddy’s memory – it’s a lovely tribute to him.
“Their donation will be used to provide local Macmillan services ensuring that whatever cancer throws your way, we’ll be right there with you!”
