Ballymena’s Harmony Hub is being transformed into a Winter Wonderland this week, with an igloo, log cabin, fairy houses and frozen tower set to spring up in the heart of the town.
Visitors to the Winter Wonderland, taking place between Thursday 13th and Saturday 15th December, are invited to pop into Mrs Claus’ cabin, or say hello to the elves!
The Christmas Fairy Godmother will also be in town to amaze the kids as she allows them inside and to experience the magical interior of her life-size tree.
Jack Frost won’t be far away either! The children can enjoy his igloo and its fantastic interior.
The Winter Wonderland has been organised by Ballymena BID, in conjunction with Mid and East Antrim Borough Council.
Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Councillor Lindsay Millar, said: “The Winter Wonderland is really exciting and I can’t wait to see it at Harmony Hub this week.
“The entertainment planned is fantastic and promises great fun for all the family.
“This is yet another reason to get out and do your shopping in our brilliant towns and villages this Christmas, and I know that residents and visitors alike will get behind the abundance of independent retailers across Mid and East Antrim as the Christmas shopping season gets into full swing.”
Speaking about the Winter Wonderland, BID Manager, Alison Moore, said: “We’re excited to bring the Winter Wonderland to Ballymena town centre this Christmas.
“We wanted to do something different but still encourage people, more so than ever, to visit Ballymena to do their shopping.
“It really is the town that has something for everyone and the Winter Wonderland is a spectacular addition to the Christmas entertainment programme.”
Visitors to the Winter Wonderland will also have a chance to win a family pass to the brilliant ‘Puss in Boots’ pantomime, taking place at The Braid on Friday 21st or Saturday 22nd December, as well as a voucher for Cameron’s. Find out more on the Ballymena Means Facebook page.
On Saturday 22nd December the Ballymena Chamber Orchestra will take to Harmony Hub to perform a range of Christmas carols and songs entertain shoppers in Ballymena.
