MENARYS is to open a new department store in Ballymena Town Centre.

The company recently announced the news via social media stating that it was currently recruiting for various management and sales positions.

Menarys Tempest said on its facebook page: “We are sooo excited to announce that we are opening another new store.... this time its in Ballymena.”

Menarys has been trading since 1923 growing from one independent store to a chain of 18 in 2018. It is currently celebrating its 95th birthday.

The department store chain includes womenswear, menswear, childrenswear, handbags, accessories, homewares, cookshop, luggage, cosmetics, perfume, lingerie and nightwear.

The move is welcome news for the town centre which has seen a number of shop closures over the last couple of years including Eason, HMV, Miss Selfridge, Evans and Monsoon.

Meanwhile speculation is mounting over the arrival of a new store at the Tower Centre in Ballymena.
