CULLYBACKEY Community Partnership (CCP) are delighted to be working with Ballymena Runners and have organised a Fun Run for Thursday, August 16 starting at 6.30pm in Cullybackey.
Looking after our health is such a key issue in our everyday life and we are all aware of how even a small bit of exercise can make such a difference to your health.
CCP were keen to look at ideas which would help bring the community together and promote health and fitness at the same time.
Having a local connection with Ballymena Runners, the idea of a Cullybackey Fun Run came about.
Stephen Brown from Ballymena Runners has been working with CCP in recent weeks to organise this fantastic event which will offer two options – a 1 mile or 3 mile walk/jog or run.
There is absolutely no requirement to be a runner to take part! Registration will be at Cullybackey College from 5pm onwards.
The race will start at 6.30pm just outside the Maine Dental Practice.
There will be prizes for each of the races, spot prizes and medals for every child taking part.
This event is open to everyone of all abilities.
Margaret Murphy, Cullybackey Community Partnership, commented: “We are delighted to be working with Ballymena Runners on this event and would like to welcome everyone to come along for a bit of fun, some exercise and a cup of tea and a bun!
“It will be a great opportunity to come along with the family to enjoy the evening and nice surroundings of the Riverside Path”.
CCP are made up of a group of volunteers from Cullybackey who are passionate about making Cullybackey a better place to live and visit and throughout the year organise a wide range of events, activities and classes.
They are also based in and manage the Maine Business Centre, a social enterprise on the Main Street offering office and unit space to rent.
