THE Velvet Rose is continuing to blossom as it celebrates its third successful year in business with staff member Claire McWilliams being crowned Beautician of the Year NI at The Northern Ireland Hair and Beauty Awards 2018.

Claire led the team to victory as she scooped the prestigious award, with the salon also being shortlisted as finalists for Team of the Year and Salon of the Year, having won this accolade last year.

The salon at Galgorm will be open three years in October and now has a six strong team.

The Velvet Rose was the first salon to bring body sugaring to the area and are renowned for their expert sugaring services with people travelling from as far as Lisburn and Portadown for monthly treatments.

Claire McWilliams joined owner Claire Baxter in Antrim after completing her Level 3 BTEC National Diploma in Beauty Therapy and has been by her side ever since.

Together they have helped build what is now a multi award winning salon, The Velvet Rose where she has had extensive training including Hd Brows Minimi wrap Airbase Makeup, Hot Stone Massage and expert Face and Body Sugaring.

The duo travelled to Nottingham to hone their skills and train with world renowned sugarist Stephanie King.

Claire faced stiff competition from nine other finalists from all over Northern Ireland at the awards and her expertises and professionalism ensured she came out on top!

On receiving the award Claire said: "I was so delighted to receive the award. I absolutely love my job and all my wonderful clients! Also a big thank you to my boss Claire!"

Claire was promoted to Assistant Manager at the start of the year and performs the day to day running of the salon. Her professionalism, friendly nature and enthusiasm made her very deserving of the award.

She is a perfectionist and this shows in her work. Claire really is an asset to the salon and is highly thought of both by the team and by her high following of clients.

Claire Baxter has made the decision to promote the salon as a sanctuary for natural skin and bodycare and using the most organic skincare bodycare tan and homecare there is available in the beauty industry we are certainly fulfilling our aim.

She said: "We care not only about our clients but their health and well-being as well and feel it is very important to use products that promote this.

"This year the team is the biggest it has ever been and with highly skilled therapists and a great rapport between us all it really is a home away from home both for staff and clients. We would like to thank all of our clients who voted for us and greatly appreciate it."
