A BALLYGAWLEY girl has been named Child of the Year at the NI4kids Family Awards.
Caitlin O'Hanlon received her award for her efforts in raising awareness of mental health in children.
Just after her 13th birthday, Caitlin was admitted to hospital suffering from anorexia nervosa Over the next three years, Caitlin was admitted to hospital four times, suffering from depression.
She was determined to come out of that darkness and beat her demons once and for all.
Her new passion was and is to help and raise awareness of mental health in children, speaking openly about her experiences in an effort to break the taboo surrounding the subject.
Caitlin was presented with the award by Ballinderry country music star Cliona Hagan.
