Get Ready, Get Set ..It's Sports Awards! thumbnail

MID and East Antrim Borough Council's annual Sports Awards evening takes place on Thursday,  (March 8), in Carrickfergus.
A panel met back in January and sifted through the nominations before selecting  the winners in each of the NINE Sections.
Winners will be announced at the Awards night.
MC for the evening will be Claire McCollum.
She did an excellent job last year when the Awards occasion was held in Larne Leisure Centre.
This is second year Mid and East Antrim have jointly held the sporting occasion - one of the most sought after on the sporting calendar.
Prior to this, before the Council amalgamation, Ballymena annually held its own Sports Awards, in The Braid Arts Centre (Town Hall).
Back in early January the official launch of the  annual Mid and East Antrim Sports Awards took  place in the Braid Arts Centre.
Mid and East Antrim Mayor, Councillor Paul Reid, officially launched the event in his Parlour.
Members of the public were  asked to submit nominations in the following Categories  -
Junior Sportsperson of the Year
School Sporting Performance of the Year
Manager/Coach of the Year
 Sportsperson/Team with a Disability
Veteran's Award
Team of the Year
Services to Sport
Sportsperson of the Year
