United focus on trip to Seaview this weekend

Thursday, 22 February 2018

BALLYMENA United, bitterly disappointed at losing out in the Bet McLean League Cup final at the weekend, will get back in focus this week as they prepare to take on Crusaders at Seaview on Saturday (3pm).
It is back to the Premiership for the Sky Blues, who lost 3-1, without much of a fight, to Dungannon Swifts at Windsor Park on Saturday night.
United manager David Jeffrey admitted he was bitterly disappointed at not holding on to the League Cup, won last year against Carrick Rangers at Seaview.
But Jeffrey was quick to congratulate Dungannon Swifts - "On the day Dungannon were the better side. It is as simple as that. They moved the ball quicker and they were more incisive. "
The United boss said his players were busting their gut to hold on to the trophy - "They are gutted, and my overwhelmning emotion is of disappointment for my players because they did not produce what they are capable of," Jeffrey told Guardian Sport.
