BALLYMENA Road Club Irish Champion cyclist Eileen Burns was celebrating last week after being selected to represent Northern Ireland at the 2018 Commonwealth Games at the Gold Coast Australia.
Eileen is part of a seven cyclist team that takes part in the games on April.
She is the latest of the club to take part in the Commonwealth Games after Sammy Kerr, Billy Kerr, Ronnie Grant, Andrew Moss and Ryan Connor.  Eileen has worked hard over the last five years and this comes as no surprise to her fellow BRC members that the Irish TT and Pursuit Champion wouldn't be getting the call up.
Eleen's training will now take a step up with early morning and late night training while holding down a full time job this was no mean feat.
