Eight Antrim Players In The Line Up thumbnail

THERE are eight Antrim players in this this year's Danske Bank Ulster Colleges Hurling All Star team which was announced at a reception in Riddle Hall Belfast last week.
St Louis Ballymena have three representatives, Aaron Crawford at full-back, Liam McCann at midfield and Ryan McGarry at left-half forward. St Killian's, Garron Tower have two with Francis 'Fred' McCurry selected at right-half forward and Ed McQuillan at right corner-forward. St Mary's CBGS have also have two with Sean Wilson at left-half-back and Dominic McEnhill at midfield while Cross & Passion have one representative in Niall McCormick who lines out at right-half back.
The St Louis trio all come from the Dunloy club and were members of the back to back winning Antrim minor championship side. McCann was the clubs minor captain and like McGarry and Crawford is involved with St Louis in the McLarnon cup.
Ruairi Og Cushendall also have three club members in the side, McCurry and McQuillan both representing the Tower and Niall McCormick, the only Cross and Passion Ballycastle player recognised.
It was also interesting to note that no one from Antrim was considered suitable for inclusion on the All Stars football fifteen which perhaps is one pointer why the County football side is trailing in the wake of the hurlers.
