League programme reaches halfway break

Thursday, 28 December 2017

THE League programme reached its half way point last week and now takes its customary Christmas and New Year break.
Division One saw three of the four scheduled matches taking place. This produced home victories for both Broughshane teams and the Golf Club Senior's.
BPFA A hosted Portglenone CC where all four home rinks won with something to spare in an overall 35 shot victory.
Their B team colleagues made it a Broughshane home win double by defeating an inconsistent Old Bleach side that was unable to repeat their excellent performance of the previous week.
James Wasson and Adrian Hamill both won for the PFA with Brian Trimble and James Talbot replying for the "Bleach". The result could have been even better for the hosts as William Esler led Talbot's rink by 2 shots with two ends to play. However, 3 shots on the closing two ends gave the visiting rink their point.
Golf Senior's leapfrogged Old Bleach into third place as they finished their first half of the season in style, recording a "maximum" at home to MGBC. 7 shots separated the teams at the break and second half victories for Jonathan Lynn and Donald Smith capped a fine evening for the Raceview side.
Michelin's home match with JTI was postponed.
