KELLS man Gary Marshall has been awarded the prestigious 'Performance Coach of the Year' title!
The European Gold Medal winning Pony Show Jumping Chef d'Equipe was presented with the award by winner for the past two years, John Ledingham.
Speaking to Guardian Sport Gary said he was "honoured" to have received the award.
"I am honoured to receive the prestige award of HSI Performance Coach of the Year, alongside great coaches that have won it in the past," he said.
“ I congratulate the riders on their success this year and thank the parents, trainers, sponsors, grooms, vets and everyone that made the success possible."
Gary was one of over 430 people at the Cavan Equestrian Centre last week for Horse Sport Ireland's biggest ever Coaching and Breeding Conference.
The day was a sell out and attendees were treated to some really noteworthy sessions from some of the equestrian industry's top professionals.
Gary had a remarkable year, starting with the Five Nations Cup (international team events) which saw him on the podium FIVE times with different teams!
