JONATHAN Calderwood, the head groundsman at Paris Saint-Germain, has shared some tips on how to improve Ballymena Showgrounds pitch!
The man tasked with ensuring PSG's multi-million pound stars can showcase their talents on the most pristine of playing surfaces met up with Mid and East Antrim Council's Director of Operations, Philip
Thompson, Ballymena United Chairman John Taggart, Vice-Chairman Don Stirling and Council groundsmen.
The Showgrounds pitch has came in for quite a bit of stick in recent years - the football fraternity blaming Ballymena Raceway drivers for the trouble.
Ballymena United boss David Jeffrey has also weighed in on the debate, pointing out a dodgy pitch does little to bring success to his Showgrounds side!
Jonathan, formerly from Clough, oversaw a very special inspection at Ballymena Showgrounds during a trip home last week.
Director of Operations Mr. Thompson said they were really pleased to welcome Jonathan to Ballymena Showgrounds and to showcase just one of our top-class sporting facilities in the Borough.
