THE Mid-Antrim 150 road race meeting will NOT be taking place next year, writes Shaun O'Neill.
But organisers plan to run it in 2019.
This news was revealed at the Mid Antrim 150 Club's recent Annual General Meeting.
The club said that due to spiralling costs they have decided not to run the race meeting at the Clough Circuit next year.
The last Mid-Antrim 150 race meeting, held last year, was a wash-out - costing the club a fortune to stage as the horrendous weather wiped out any profits they were hoping for.
It is a costly venture putting everything in place - but Mid Antrim 150 Club believe all will be in order for the race meeting to go ahead in 2019.
Mid Antrim 150 Club put an awful lot of work into the launch of the 2016 event - but had no say in the weather which wrecked their big days. The Club held a big launch night in The Braid (Town Hall) in Ballymena.
