CULLYBACKEY'S Peter Bremner won the European Deadlift Championship title in Scotland at the weekend, writes Shaun O'Neill.
“I went with the goal of winning the deadlift and did just that," Bremner told Guardian Sport.
A few months ago he pulled a 400kg deadlift breaking the original Irish record of 380kg.
“I then went onto beat my own record in the Europens and pulled an easy 405kg winning the competition and also setting a new record," he said.
This is the first time any Irish man has pulled over 400kg in a competition and the first time it was ever pulled in Scotland.
“To say I'm happy would be an understatement. This year I have been 3rd in Ireland's strongest man 3rd best bodybuilder in NI and now I'm a new record holder and winner of European deadlift championships," said a delighted Bremner.
He thanks Peak Physique where he trains and work from in Ballymena for their
continued support.
He also thanked McAtamneys Thomas Street for helping him with all the food he needs to fuel his training.
Thanks also goes to Sam Graham for helping me perfect my technique and training and to his family for their very valued support.
