BALLYMENA Ladies 1st X1 were home to CI ladies and continued their unbeaten league campaign by winning the match 4-1.
The girls knew this would be a tough test against a team who had taken valuable points off them in previous seasons.
Ballymena settled into the game passing the ball around well but the drilled and organised CI team stopped any goal opportunities.
A penalty corner in favour of Ballymena finally broke the deadlock midway through the first half with Kirsten Young applying the finish into the back of the net.
Ballymena continued to pile the pressure on in search of their second goal and it came towards the end of the first half.
A quick free by Emma Clarke found Clare Gillespie in the circle who turned and made no mistake to double Ballymena's lead.
Ballymena took a two goal lead into half time.
The second half started much the same as the first with Ballymena applying pressure on the CI defence and turning the ball over.
The defense of Ballymena cleared up any attacking efforts of CI.
The girls were rewarded with their third goal midway through the second half.
