Vinney fighting in Cincinnati thumbnailVinney Esler: fightiing for Northern Ireland in Cincinnati on Wednesday night. GB39Vinney 1P58

VINNEY Esler will be in action tomorrow night (Wednesday) in Cincinnati.
The All Saints boxer is with the Northern Ireland team which made a winning start to its four in Detroit at the weekend.
Esler took on local favourite, two times Golden Gloves champion, David Fecteau, and won on a split decision.
He boxed Fecteau at range, keeping him at bay.
The Detroit boxer repetitively forced the fight, looking to engage in a toe to toe slugfest.
Esler boxed and moved and picked his man off as he attacked.
At times it did get untidy when Fecteau tried to tie Esler up but that was to be expected.
Chatting to Esler after the fight he said he was happy with the win, and admitted he was a little rusty!
“I am really looking forward to Wednesday night's bout, obviously hoping I can make it two wins out of two," Esler told Guardian Sport.
For the record the Northern Ireland team beat the Americans 7-4 - making their Saturday night a very happy night in Detroit.
Twenty-five-year-old Esler, from Dunvale Gardens in the town, flew out to the States last Monday.
The multi-times Ulster and County Antrim champion is on the NI team for the two tournament trip.
The Ballymena man was keen to make his mark, as he uses the American fight/trip as part of his preparations for the upcoming Senior Championships.
He certainly did not let himself down in his opening fight.
Esler wants to give the selectors plenty to think about as they put together their boxing team for next year's Commonwealth Games in Australia.
The Warwick Engineering welder knows he has the spark to light up his performance in the ring.
Since his selection for this trip Vinney received some very welcome sponsorship from businesses and others within the town.
He thanks every single person who assisted in any way.
