Local Fireman to feel the heat at World Gran Fondo thumbnailBrendan McAllister: comepting in the upcoming UCI Gran Fondo World Championships in France.

A full-time fireman from Ballymena will compete in the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships in France.
Brendan McAllister, who is Chairman and founder member of Glens Cycling Club, qualified after two impressive outings in Scotland and England.
Fifty-five-year-old Brendan is delighted to be representing Ireland on the World stage - and cannot wait for the action to commence.
“There will be riders from all over the world taking part. This will be my first time at this level, and I am really looking forward to taking part," Cushendall man Brendan told Guardian Sport.
The cyclist is quick to praise his wife Brenda for supporting him throughout his training for the World stage.
