DEPUTY Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Councillor Cheryl Johnston, has said it was an honour to talk football with Ballymena's Northern Ireland international manager, Michael O'Neill.
Cllr. Johnston, who plays for Carrick Rangers Ladies FC, talked with O'Neill at the recent launch of the UEFA Women's Under-19 Championships at the International Stadium at Windsor Park.
The Deputy Mayor said she was delighted that Ballymena Showgrounds had been used as a venue for a few of the UEFA ties.
Over 140 of the best young footballers in Europe are taking part in the prestigious U-19 tournament.
Eight national teams, including Northern Ireland as hosts, are participating in the showpiece.
After chatting with N.I. boss O'Neill Cllr. Johnston said it was an honour to have spoken with the local hero who is held in such high regard in Mid and East Antrim.
