New Celebration Occasions at United?

Thursday, 1 June 2017

CELEBRATION occasions for Ballymena United players, who merit special recognition, could become a regular item at the Showgrounds!
First in line for this new look idea may well be Sky Blue midfielder Allan Jenkins, who has parted company from United after six seasons, and 254 games at the club.
Ballymena United manager David Jeffrey is full of support for such an item to be introduced.
Speaking to Guardian Sport Jeffrey said any United player - or official - making a valued contribution to the life of the club should be recognised accordingly!
The manager said the opportunity is not always there to give a proper good-bye at the time - but the matter should be taken onboard and the individual properly recognised.
Jeffrey was quick to point out that at the moment he has other vitally important matters on his mind - including preparations for United's first foray into Europe in several decades.
The manager said he has spoken with United Chairman, John Taggart, on the 'evening of celebration' recognition idea.
“I have discussed this with the Chairman. I believe any player who has contributed to the extent that Allan (Jenkins) has should be recognised," he said.
Jeffrey called for the backing of United's big fan following to support such occasions!
