AFTER narrowly missing out on promotion last season Ruby's Rovers got it right this time round and will kick off next season in Division Two!
Talisman Paul McCann hit a hat trick to see his side come out on top and take the Division 3 League crown.
Ruby's started on the front foot with wingers Derek McMullan and Andrew Monaghan making useful runs and provided good opportunities for McCann.
It took them nine minutes to get the break through. Craig Cowie clipped a ball over the Connor defence for McCann who beat the offside trap, his initial effort was saved by Noel Kerr but he then rounded the keeper to score.
Connor came more into the game after this and went close when Gavin Kernohan from 45 yards hit a shot which rebounded off the post.
Ruby's doubled their lead when McCann pounced on a loose clearance to slip in Ross Luney who was upended as he was trying to shoot and a penalty kick was awarded.
McCann stepped up to hit the spot kick and despite the best efforts of Kerr the ball found the net.
Connor's midfield with Jamie White and Gavin Kernohan came more into the game and they forced Ruby's onto the back foot forcing a series of corners.
From one of these corners Connor got their equaliser when Ian Millar swung over a corner which was not dealt with and the ball fell to Kernohan to smash home and set up a grandstand second half.
