NORTHERN IRELAND League Cup champions Ballymena United will attend a special reception, to mark their achievement, on Thursday night at The Braid Arts Centre (Town Hall).
Mid and East Antrim Mayor, Councillor Audrey Wales, MBE, who is hosting the event, will welcome United manager David Jeffrey and his backroom staff and players.
Back on February 18 United won the NI League Cup final, beating Carrick Rangers 2-0 at Seaview, with goals from Allan Jenkins and Conor McCloskey.
In their Cup run the Sky Blues also scored notable wins over Linfield (4-1 at the Showgrounds) and high flying Coleraine (3-0 after extra time, in the semi-final, also in Ballymena).
Mayor Wales attended the final at Shore Road last month.
She congratulated manager Jeffrey on bringing the Cup to Ballymena in what is his first season in charge at the Showgrounds.
Jeffrey was pleased with the Cup victory - but has always made it clear that number one priority is finishing as high up the League as possible.
He and close colleague and assistant Bryan McLoughlin have secured United a top six finish - the first time ever achieved during Ballymens's time in the Premiershp!
