Skipper Ervin expects quite a battle!

JIM Ervin expects quite a battle when 'derby' rivals Coleraine come to town for Saturday's Tennent's Irish Cup quarter-final tie at the Showgrounds (3pm).
The Ballymena United captain is far too experienced to think that because his side have beaten Coleraine twice and drawn one this season that this weekend will be a stroll in the park.
“In Cup ties form goes out the window," 31-year-old Ervin told Guardian Sport. "It all depends on who wants it more on the day."
The Showgrounds skipper is aware Oran Kearney's men have won their last EIGHT matches and drawn ONE, at the weekend with Cliftonvill - a very impressive run!
“Coleraine have had a fantastic run. But in the 'derby' Cup clash form does not count for anything. Ballymena United have beaten them in one Cup this season, so we know what we have do do," outlined Ervin.
The Cup Ervin was referring, of course, to was the NI League Cup, and that was back on December 13 last year in the semi final.
In front of a jam-packed Showgrounds the sides battled it out - and failed to be separated in normal time.
In extra time United won 3-0!
Captain Ervin has just agreed a new one year-extension at United.
Manager David Jeffrey said he and Bryan McLoughlin continually look at the players who are making a significant contribution, and Ervin has done just that.
“We both believe that Jim is playing some of the best football of his career and he is exemplary both on and off the pitch," summed up Jeffrey, who added it took all of a few minutes to agree the new deal!
Meanwhile, Tony Kane continues treatment this week on a hamstring strain.
The versatile free-kick and penalty specialist, who sits on 16 goals this season, missed the weekend 2-1 away win over Ballinamallard United.United sport therapist Gordon McCartney said Kane is responding very well to treatment.
