Battle at Tillysburn!

Thursday, 2 February 2017

BALLYMENA United manager David Jeffrey is preparing for quite a battle when he takes his side to Tillysburn Park on Saturday for their sixth round of the Tennent's Irish Cup against Harland and Wolff Welders (1.30pm).
“It will be a one off game. You have to go knowing that a battle lies ahead. If you are not prepared for battle you will not succeed," declared Jeffrey.
Jeffrey has been very busy in the transfer window - his latest acquisition being striker Kevin Braniff!
The 34-year-old comes to United on an 18 month contract.
Braniff joins newcomers 'keeper Tim Allen, Joseph McKinney and full-back Michael Kerr, on loan from Crusaders.
Boss Jeffrey was quick to thank out his backroom staff for their help in getting the new players to come to the Showgrounds.
“We are pleased with our work," he said, adding that 'keeper Alan Blayney has left United.
The manager is most pleased with snapping up Braniff, who was last with Glenavon.
“Kevin was on our radar for sometime and he fits perfectly into our structure. He is a quality player. When Bryan (McLoughlin) and I were at Linfield we twice tried to get him to Windsor (Park) but low and behold we now get him at Warden Street," summed up Jeffrey.
