From Canada to Tullyglass to see Gazza! thumbnailRobert McCorkindale: flew in from Canada to meet Gazza last week in Tullyglass House Hotel! GB4906DP43

A MAN flew in from Canada to see his footballing hero Paul Gascoigne last week in Tullyglass House Hotel in Ballymena!
The former England, Newcastle, Spurs and Glasgow Rangers player was in town last week, and spent a most enjoyable evening with over 550 of his fans, recalling many hilarious stories from his past.
And Robert McCorkindale, who five years ago emigrated to Canada, thought nothing of forking out 600 for his flights to come to Ballymena to see and listen to his hero Gazza!
“He is my idol," Robert told Guardian Sport. "My cousin Taylor Dalton contacted me in Saskatoon, which is five hours from Calgary, to tell me Gazza would be coming to Tullyglass. That was all it took - I had my flight booked and am really pleased I had the pleasure to be with him. He was absolutely brilliant."
Robert, a contract sidings and roofings foreman, got speaking with Gazza while having his photograph taken with the former soccer star.
“I told him I had came over from Canada to attend his evening, and he thanked me for doing so," recalled Robert.
The appearance of Paul Gascoigne at Tullyglass House Hotel attracted an excellent turnout.
