BRAID United's Charity Night, in memory of Ballymena man Darren Rodgers, has raised over 5,000 for the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust (KBRT)!
The function took place on Saturday night in the Adair Arms Hotel in the town.
Spokesman Richard McClean told Guardian Sport that 190 people attended the fund raiser.
Guests included Northern Ireland team manager Michael O'Neill, Ballymena United manager David Jeffery and Sky Blues captain, Jim Ervin.
“We thank every single person who supported the venture," said Richard, who is secretary of Braid United, the team the late Darren used to play for.
The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust aims to alleviate the financial hardship of bereaved families repatriating the body (bodies) of loved one(s) who have died abroad in sudden or tragic circumstances back to Ireland.
Back in June Darren died after falling over a railing when over in France supporting Northern Ireland in the Euros.
Local sports personality Jackie Fullerton was MC at the evening, at which there were auctions and raffles.
