New Ballymena United striker, Neil Teggart.
New Ballymena United striker Neil Teggart is fired up for the new season - and means serious business when it kicks-off in August, writes Shaun O'Neill.
The Ardglass man, a former Northern Ireland Under-21 international, confidently predicts he will produce the goods for the Sky Blues when the new Invitation League gets underway.
Teggart, who was also being sought after by Portadown and Glenavon, and other clubs, spoke with United manager Roy Walker, liked what he heard, and put pen to paper for a year.
And the 6'2" forward predicts the goals will flow for him at United.
“It's not that the goals may come ....... they will come," he told Guardian Sport.
Teggart's best tally for a season was 29 goals, and that was when he was with Sunderland Reserves.
Ballymena boss Walker hopes Teggart and Scottish striker Kevin Kelbie gel, form a formidable partnership and plunder goals in all competitions.
Teggart had a spell with Hamilton Accies, but injury cut short his chance to shine.
Last season he played for Kilmore Rec, a move which cut short his chances of playing for any other club due to the three-club rule.
“That was a bit of a blunder," he said. "But that is behind me now and I honestly cannot wait to get going with Ballymena United."
