Nathan Hanley: coming to United?
ROY Walker is on the trail of Hull City midfielder Nathan Hanley, writes Shaun O'Neill.
The Ballymena United boss spoke with Hanley on Monday - and it is likely he will watch the player in his side tonight (Tuesday) against Newington at Brantwood's ground (7.30pm).
Hanley, who comes from Carrick, is the latest target of Walker, who continues to rebuild for the new season.
Fellow Irish Premier side Crusaders are also reported to be interested in the young midfielder.
Two years ago Hanley was on the Northern Ireland Elite squad for the NI Milk Cup tournament.
Meanwhile, striker Gary McCutcheon, who missed the United Open Day on Saturday due to attending a wedding, will be in action in this evening's friendly with Newington.
At the weekend United lost 2-1 at home to the Northern Ireland Junior international side managed by Harry McConkey.
On target for United was Harryville man Maurice McDowell.
On Wednesday night United play Raceview in Broughshane (7.30pm).
And on Saturday Ballymena take on SPL side St. Mirren at the Showgrounds (3pm).
A couple of weeks ago Ballymena drew 2-2 with Scottish Division 1 side Cowdenbeath, managed by Jimmy Nicholl.
