COWDENBEATH manager Jimmy Nicholl has praised the facilities at Ballymena Showgrounds.
The former Northern Ireland defender was at the venue on Saturday - and watched his side come back from two goals down to clinch a 2-2 draw with Roy Walker's Sky Blues.
Nicholl, only appointed in charge of the Scottish Division 1 side a few weeks ago, was absolutely amazed at what the Showgrounds has to offer.
“The manager and players must find it a pleasure to come to work there," Nicholl told Guardian Sport after the game.
The Belfast man thanked United for hosting them in the pre-season friendly - and revealed he may make it a regular trip to the town.
Ballymena Mayor, Councillor Maurice Mills, who played a major part in getting the game on at the Showgrounds - at one stage it looked as though Seaview would have be used due to the unavailability of the pitch - thanked Nicholl and co. for coming across.
He presented Cowdenbeath with a Seven Towers plaque for their Boardroom.
United Chairman, Robert Cupples, said the Showgrounds side may consider a forthcoming return trip by Ballymena arrange a trip over to Cowdenbeath for a friendly.
He, too, thanked Nicholl for bringing his side over to Ballymena.
The Cowdenbeath team and officials were based at Galgorm Manor Hotel.
“It was out of this world," said manager Nicholl, who thanked the staff there for their excellent hospitality.
After the match on Saturday the Cowdenbeath squad and officials were treated to a superb spread in the Board room and adjoining Players' Lounge. Nicholl thanked those responsible, and wished United every success in the Irish Premiership in the forthcoming season.
