Workman adds McQuigg Cup to his collection! thumbnailSteven Workman: winner of the Sam McQuigg Cup 50 miles time trial.

STEVEN Workman won Ballymena Road Club - Scott Roof Tiles - Sam McQuigg Cup 50 miles time trial on the Woodgreen, Dunsilly, Ballee course last Wednesday evening.
Conditions weren't perfect with some rain showers during the race but this didn't seem to slow down Workman who recorded a super-fast time of 1 hour 50 minutes 47 seconds.
Steven most definitely doesn't like the wet roads but he needed a qualifying time for the club's time trial best all rounder championship and he qualified in style by taking almost 20 minutes off his time for the same distance in 2009.
This also earned him first place in the handicap section and with it the McQuigg cup.
Steven also leads the club's handicap league and even though four races remain he will be hard to topple.
Results, fastest times: (1) Steven Workman 1.50.47 (2) David McClean 1.58.26 (3) Derek Dougan 2.00.43 (4) Clive Morris 2.15.22 (5) Bobby Currie 2.16.08 (6) Beresford Millar 2.25.11. Private trial Martin Robb (Bann Valley) 2.02.59
