Ballymena have 5 players in Ireland’s 6 Nations squad

Ballymena appears 5 times in the 44-man Ireland Squad announced ahead of the 6 Nations through the efforts of scrum half Isaac Boss, back rower Chris Henry, wing Andrew Trimble, second row Dan Tuohy and centre Paddy Wallace.
The five players are amongst the 9 Ulster players selected by coach Declan Kidney.
In total there are 9 uncapped players with Tuohy and Ulster prop Declan Fitzpatrick the newest members to the squad alongside the other uncapped men in Leinster's Fergus McFadden, Kevin McLaughlin, Devin Toner and John Fogarty, Leicester's Johne Murphy, Connacht's Brett Wilkinson and Chris Henry.
Two players not considered for selection were the injured duo of Leinster wing Luke Fitzgerald who ruptured knee ligaments in November and Munster back-rower Denis Leamy who is out for the rest of the season with a serious knee injury.
In order to increase the competitiveness needed ahead of the opening 6 Nations game against Italy on 6th February, Ireland "A" will play two international games in quick succession against England Saxons on 31st January and Scotland "A" at Ravenhill on 5th February.
