Pothole repair campaign gets started thumbnailRepairs: Work is starting on pothole repair across the area

AFTER a huge flood of complaints from irate motorists, the growing pothole pressure looks as if it has  finally told on the Department for Infrastructure.
Local drivers were delighted to see work beginning at blackspots across the area to repair the ravages caused by freezing weather just before Christmas.

The road surface at that point had been the subject of repeated complaints with many locals branding the widespread potholes on the approach to the roundabout as 'extremely dangerous'.
While the repairs at this junction will be rightly welcomed, there are still many roads - especially in rural areas - which are pockmarked with tyre bursting potholes. Inthis week's Guardian, we look at some of the worst examples and explain how you can make a complaint to the Department if you have been affected.
